About Me.

Hi, my name is Amy Kirk. I'm a mum of 3 kids, wife of an Agronomist/farmer/all round good guy and we're living our fullest life in North East Victoria, balancing kids school and sports, camping adventures and socialising with friends (AKA my Village). While I have enjoyed a stable career with large companies offering workplace comradery, structure and a consistent salary, my young family requires more flexibility. So here I am, leveraging my skill set to help farmers and Australian agribusinesses grow and manage in a time of great technological change. And so I proudly introduce, The Livestock Office.

There are two things that come naturally for me. Communicating effectively with people from all walks of life, and embracing technology. Combining these strengths is a powerful and purposeful position to be in.

Honestly, I really enjoy exploring new technology platforms, devices and software solutions. Innovation that provides efficiencies and makes life simpler is exciting - but not always user friendly. Helping translate something new and overwhelming so it can be implemented and made usable for everyone, brings me great satisfaction.

With a background in intensive animal management and livestock export, my career evolved to livestock software implementation, training and support for major Australian agribusinesses.

  • Engaging stakeholders along the supply chain to gather business needs and find a fit for purpose solution,

  • Leveraging knowledge from technical and operational experts, developers and database administrators to ensure the back end systems are robust and transparent

  • Using my own communication, leadership, teamwork and problem solving skills to drive change through the business.

The outcome - operational efficiencies, data collection and documentation improvements, analytical transparency and empowered staff.

I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at the enterprise level, but now its time to share my insights, easy-going approach and support small businesses in navigating the complexities of today's technological age.

FAQ's

I have an LPA audit coming up, how can you help?

Putting it off is normal and common. We can catch up in person or online, go through the audit checklist together to identify any gaps, make some improvements, gather photos and other evidence, upload to the LPA website or have everything ready for when the auditor arrives. If you receive non-conformances, we can rectify them together and I’ll support you til its closed out.

How should I record my animals, their movements and what treatments they get?

Once we discuss your business requirements and identify solutions that add value and are within your budget, I can set it up, conduct training, write instructions, get you started and then support you and your staff as much or as little as you need. There are many options, so it can be overwhelming. Keeping it simple and user friendly is key.
Do you only do livestock related tasks?
No, I have a very broad skill set and am a great communicator and listener, so whatever help you need, I can adapt and support. A popular request is International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC) support - this is a new and exciting space for me. As always, if I don't have the answers - I soon will!
How flexible are you and what does it cost?
I offer remote and/or on-site services and charge hourly, half day or full day rates. We can discuss your timeline and availability, the size and frequency of the task to come up with a plan that works.
